This was a passion project with my co-writer, Sophia. We wanted to do a blog focused on Taylor Swift's impact on her Singaporean audience through a fan's perspective.
Upon reflection, I realised that sourcing for newsmakers to bolster our story was difficult but ultimately rewarding. I'm glad with how the article turned out as it felt like a tribute to both Taylor Swift and the local fanbase (aka Swifties) in Singapore.

IGNITE! Incubation sessions: Here’s what went down

For the edition of IGNITE! Festival that happened in 2022, I wrote a listicle about the music workshops (incubation sessions) that were conducted by Zendyll Music, Bandlab and Maker Records respectively.
It opened my eyes to the local music scene in Singapore — the triumphs and tribulations of being a musician, the diversity of perspectives from different artistes and how their shared love of music brings them together.

For this piece, I went to one of the screenings at Singapore Youth Film Festival 2024 to watch a short documentary about Joan Hung, a paralympian who represented Singapore in Goalball and has a visual impairment.
Going to this festival made me realise that Singapore has a lot of creative talent that sometimes goes under the radar. I also learnt more about the struggles that local filmmakers face in stirring up interest for Singaporean cinema.

An exclusive peak inside the set of Mediacorp’s Last Madame: Sisters Of The Night

This was a branded collaboration with Mediacorp to promote their new series "The Last Madame: Sisters of the Night". I co-wrote this article with Yun Xuan and Clairre. We were invited to tour their set and interview two of the actors, which allowed us to give a behind-the-scenes look for our readers.
This experience made me more appreciative of the efforts that set designers and actors take to make the show feel realistic and effortless as there is a lot of attention to detail that audiences may miss.
