Industry Project for M350 (Channel 8)
This was a video made for Channel 8, where my team and I chose to focus on the topic of human interest. Our main newsmaker was a Singapore Airlines flight captain with only an O-level certification, a choice we made because we found his story inspiring and hoped it would encourage viewers to pursue their dreams. I was one of the cameramen.
Throughout this project, I learned valuable lessons about time management, storyboarding, and staying flexible with story angles. We encountered several challenges that required us to adapt and revise our approach, which taught me the importance of being open to new perspectives while ensuring the story’s core message remained impactful. Collaborating with my team to plan and execute the video, I gained hands-on experience in creating a structured storyboard that kept us aligned and efficient. Managing tight schedules also emphasized the necessity of prioritization and clear communication.
Despite the adjustments we had to make, the process was incredibly rewarding. By showcasing the captain’s journey, we not only stayed true to our human interest theme but also delivered a story that resonated with our audience.
